In this post I am going to research into the genre of the brief (Magazines). This will help me to understand the stereotypical conventions of entertainment magazines, this will give me ideas for my coursework. The brief states that our magazines have to of an entertainment genre so i will look at 3 media products of the same genre.
In conclusion, I now understand the typical conventions of magazines, intertextuality, hyperreality and typical layouts. This task has helped me to understand what I need to include in my magazine for it to fit into the entertainment magazine genre. I will use one main image/story in my coursework and use the words such as "exclusive" and "plus" which help to engage the audience in the magazines. I will also follow the typical conventions such as having a date, price and a barcode.
