During this research task I hope to understand how the media texts (magazines) use language elements and construct representation to interest/attract the audience. I will analyse the way magazines are laid out, the images they use and the texts they have on the magazines.

In conclusion, I understand the importance and influence that certain texts and images can have on the way the magazine is portrayed. In my coursework I aim to follow the typical conventions of the magazines. I will use certain language such as "exclusive" and "plus" to help attract an audience, use stickers and create a colour theme in order for my magazine to follow typical conventions. I have also noticed that the magazines seem to have the star looking straight into the camera to create different representations. I will bear this in mind when creating my media product- my model will be looking into the camera to show power. Magazines also use one colour that stands out typically red or bright colours, my colour scheme will follow this pattern.

You have mentioned that you would use stickers and language such as "plus" and "exclusive", but how else are you thinking of constructing representations? Images? Type of font? Colour [denotation/connotation]?
